This is a modified repost of a comment I just made on the long Mass Bannings 2 thread on the Help Desk:
I've never had much interaction with Delphine, because we tend to frequent different kinds of diaries. In particular, I almost always skip the primary wars diaries. I supported Bernie in the primaries, contributed to his campaign, and voted for him in the Maryland primary. Then I voted for Hillary in the general. End of that story for me.
But Delphine is being treated very unfairly here! If the admins had a conscience they'd track down every user (although I suspect there is only one) who does a masquerade on the main site but anonymously is a very nasty troll on this Help Desk.
I have no interest in relitigating who struck john several years ago! What we're talking about here is a sudden purge of several long-time Kossacks, at least three of them Jewish women progressives, with no warning, no recent infraction of any kind, and no explanation.
That just absolutely sucks no matter how you slice it. The asshole(s) who are showing up in disguise on the Help Desk to trash Delphine for false reasons are beneath contempt. He/they is also very stupid.
As I said in a diary two nights ago (after I got a lot of grief from the Stockholm syndrome and authoritarian types, and a hidden comment after I said "I guess you like brown shirts" to an asshole who basically said "If they got banned, they must have deserved to get banned") , it's extremely cowardly for the DKos front pagers to say nothing about this scandal.
And it's a revelation that after more than one thousand posts about this on the Help Desk, the DKos staff has been completely silent. Obviously they're afraid of getting fired if they disobey the gag order from the Leader. That must suck.
Why can't somebody on DKos staff just say something like this: "We've read all these comments. We understand. But we made the decision to ban those users based on a long-term series of complaints." And give some examples.
I've been here since 2003 and have a 4-digit UID. I'm a lifetime paid subscriber. I have an awful lot invested in this site. But there is no end to my contempt for the way the DKos bosses and staff have refused to say anything about this scandal.
It's so outrageous, I wouldn't be surprised if many of them are now looking for other jobs.
Stand up, DKos! At least give an explanation!
