Several days ago I wrote an impassioned and lugubrious diary about my wife’s impending major surgery for cancer.
This is to report that we got the best possible result.
Update 1: Wow! That was a ridiculously short diary. My emotions are going off like fireworks. Let me add some more information, and thanks for so many who offered support. Judy was very recently diagnosed with uterine carcinosarcoma, which is a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. The surgery was 10 days ago, and the doctor has been very late in getting back to us. After the fourth nag, he reported that the result was: Stage 1A with no lymph involvement! That’s the best possible case.
It is such a nasty malignancy that just a few cells sneaking around can cause major problems, so she’ll need CAT scans and such for years. But probably no chemotherapy. Probably a complete cure! Thank God!
