The Alien Intervention: A Dream

So this morning I had a really cool dream that’s worth writing down.  If I had the time, it would make a nice scifi short story. . . .

Suddenly there materializes on the White House lawn a bright-red egg-shaped spaceship about 50 feet tall.  A bipedal robot about six feet tall emerges from the craft, not through a door or down a ladder but simply emerging from the side.

Panicked Secret Service officers open fire, but the bullets just bounce off a force-field.  The robot makes a beeline across the grass and up to the White House door.  Once inside, it goes straight to the Oval Office.  It flashes a blinding light that immobilizes Trump, then draws him inside the force-field with black tentacles.

The robot then returns to the spaceship, ignoring the bullets.  At this point the spaceship shoots straight up about one mile at an impossible speed, and stops.

The spaceship then sends an email to thousands of news organizations in North America.  The email is entitled “Real Alien Proclamation.”  Attached to the emails are a PDF file and a video file.  The video file contains a robocam view of the arrest of Trump.  The PDF file contains a proclamation.

The proclamation states as follows:

We have just arrested your President Trump and have sentenced him to life imprisonment.  We are very disappointed that the sometimes noble country of the United States elected such an evil madman.  He is actually much more evil than even his most ardent critics realize.

He was close to launching a nuclear war to distract from the Mueller investigation.  We could not let that happen.  Our general policy is not to intervene in the affairs of other worlds.  But here we had no choice.

We are the Carbon Coalition, an alliance of the ancient civilizations from six super-worlds.  You haven’t known this yet, but Earth is special.  It is another super-world, and to our knowledge the entire galaxy contains only seven such worlds.  Explorers from all six of our coalition are active on Earth observing and experimenting.  A nuclear war would threaten all of them and it might even cause tensions within our coalition.

We think it is premature for us to establish regular communications with Earth.  So far humans are too primitive and too violent.  But perhaps someday the Earth can join our coalition.

Be warned that we will intervene again if there is an imminent threat of nuclear war.  If we deem it necessary, we can neutralize every nuclear weapon on Earth within five minutes.

[The rest of the story would describe reactions to the Proclamation.  That story pretty much writes itself.]

[Yes, I know, this is a mishmosh of standard scifi tropes, but I really did have the dream, which I’ve cleaned up a little as I typed it here.]
