OK, I'm a nerd, and like Franklin D. Roosevelt, my main hobby is collecting postage stamps.
I had to sell my original worldwide and U.S. collections to pay rent in college and law school. A major long-time injury!
But since 2008 I've been recreating the U.S. collection and it is now sweet indeed. I'm getting close to complete on the 19th century stamps. I would not sell the collection for anything.
Today I'm just exuberant about a recent buy. I paid about $40 for an obscure old 1851 U.S. stamp I found on Ebay, which wasn't bidded on much since it was from England. I got it after only 8 bids.
It arrived at my home today! It's worth SEVEN THOUSAND DOLLARS! According to the 2014 Scott's Specialized Catalogue of U.S. Stamps, which also, coincidentally arrived today.
I'm sophisticated at this hobby, and I'm quite sure I just got what I'm claiming. Mirabile!
