Oh Washington! My Washington!

I was born in 1954 in Washington, D.C. (in Garfield Hospital in N.E. which is now Washington Hospital Center).  I’ve lived most of my life in and around the District.  All of the places on TV today are intimately familiar to me.

Tonight I’m in a state of shock and incredible pain to see the dictator Trump send out federal military forces, and many other police forces including 50 mounted park police rangers, to charge and disrupt a peaceful protest at Lafayette Square Park, which is across the street from the White House.  That was done just so the demon president could walk across the street to St. John’s Episcopal Church (which has been attended by every president since Madison) to do a totally b.s. photo op in which he held up a Bible.  Lightning should have fallen.

Kudos to the Bishop and the Rector of that famous church for denouncing Trump for that, which he did without permission of the church.

Oh my.  As I’ve often said, these are “diaries,” because they are our own record of life events.

I’m so soul-sick I can hardly breathe.

Let me just register that.
