I’m 64 with major medical problems. Most alarming is that I’ve fallen several times and couldn’t get up. My wife actually called the local Rescue Squad to get me up one time about six months ago.
No doubt part of that was that I was suffering from anemia, which hadn’t yet been diagnosed, and has now been corrected. That greatly hurt my upper body strength.
I’ve fallen a few times since then, but was able to pop right up. Once was after my wife hit me in the eye with some opthalmologic eye drops, which caused me to recoil. We figured out a better way to stand against the counter when she’s giving the eye drops.
So I’ve been noodling around for a few months thinking I need to get a home gym to build up my strength.
Today I finally decided on a Body Solid EXM1500S, which I plan to buy tomorrow from Dick’s Sporting Goods in Westminster, MD, and they’ll deliver and assemble. It’s a middle of the road home gym that is more than I need and has excellent reviews. With all of the side expenses, it will probably cost about $1,500.
I’d be delighted for any comments before I pull the trigger.
